So, how did it all turn out?

Disclaimer: you should read the previous post before Reading this one. I'm all over the place in this blog entry, forgive me. I hope you can follow this. If not, it's OK. It's mainly for me anyway.

Well, first things first, I am not pregnant. In fact my husband had a vasectomy. If I were in fact pregnant there would be a lot of 'splaing to do. I have three children, non of which are adopted. Alexis is 6 (7 in late Feb), Trenton is 3 (4 in early Feb) and Jessa is nearly a year old. OMG, Taegyn Monroe, thank the LORD we had a boy, that name is terrible. We ended up going with namesakes with all of our children, Trenton's middle name is not Gabriel (as both Chad and I had planned) it's Michael, after Chad. Chad's middle name is Michael. Alexis (Jordyn) was named after Chad's best friend, Jordan. Jessa (Eden) was named after my best friend Jessica. Also, in 5 years or so we will adopt. We've always wanted to adopt an older child, it's still part of the plan... we think.

Alexis is bratty at times but not even a percentage as bratty, spoiled, and misguided as the child I was speaking of in the time capsule. I've learned a lot over the years and I'd like to believe my parenting skills and devotion to my children has paid off tremendously. I expect a lot from my children, I am strict, but they know they are loves, they understand boundaries and respect people. I want my children to be positive contributors to society in any way, shape, or form. Alexis has shown me that my parenting has paid off, she is such a wonderful, thoughtful, and bright child. Alexis lives for the Lord, she cares about the environment, and works very hard in school and in her social life. While I may get angry with her a lot...in the long haul she is outstanding.

Clearly, I ended up getting married instead of being a whore. Actually, I've been married twice to the same guy! In a couple of years maybe we'll make that three times, well, if I still love him. *giggle* Chad did end up resigning in the Navy and we did got lots of money, but we never did live in San Diego. I've pretty much vetoed all of the the west coast, it's a long story. We have lived in Washington state and New York twice since the time capsule letter. Yeah, that's coast to coast and back again in the last 5 years. Go Navy.

Jessica is still my best friend, we've been through so much together. I love her like I love my family, she IS my family. I would do anything for her, she knows this. She's come to visit me a few times since I've moved away from Arizona, I'm hoping she will come visit me in NY before our 3 years are up. She named her baby, the one I predicted was a girl, Kayleigh Marie. She has since had another child, we each have 3 kids, they're all about 9 months apart.

I never did get fake boobies, I decided to have babies instead! Now that I have had 3 children I have been blessed with am nice rack. I will probably never get new boobies and I'm really wondering why I had wanted them so badly to begin with.

AND it's so funny that the former me is telling me to get off my fat ass and exercise because last night I decided to go from flab to fab! Ha. I'm not over weight by much, 10 pounds give or take, but I could use some tightening up. You know?

I'm also going to write myself another letter. I've learned a lot in the last 5 years. I suggest you do it yourself, http://futureme.org/ is a good place to go. If you're interested in the Forbes Story about the Time Capsule click HERE.

  2. I think I'm going to do this, sounds like fun. And yes, your kids are awesome Brina. I tell Jonas all the time how respectful and nice your kids are, you're an awesome momma. Funny how things work out, even if it's not what we expect.

  3. I love this! But I think that I'd still get fake boobs only because they need a little perkage if you know what I mean ;)
