These kids, I tell ya!

It's been a crazy last few days with the kids. Alexis has made friends with the kids in the neighborhood and has been outdoors playing a majority of the time. She is covered in bug bites and comes home with new Sillybandz every day. A couple of days ago she had asked to go to the pond and catch frogs with the girls. I agreed and told her to be careful. A few hours later she had come back with her entire bottom half of her body covered in mud. I had her strip down outside and had Chad carry her to the bath. I spent a good 15 minutes trying to get the clay like mud out of her clothes and finally accepted defeat. I decided that those clothes would be come play clothes and if she wanted to go to the pond again she could wear those clothes. They we're destroyed. The following day she asked to go to the pond again, I agreed and had her put her destroyed outfit from the previous day. About 2 hours later she walks up to the backdoor covered in clay like mud. Seriously, think Swamp Thing. She had mud matted in her hair, in her ears, and there was not many skin colored areas on her body or clothes. I asked her what happened and she said that the kids dared her to swim in the pond. The dare devil that she is took the challenge head on. We had no choice, she had to be hosed off. Chad had her walk around to front of the house and sprayed her with the hose. Apparently it was too cold and she begged him to stop. We stripped her down and took her muddy little butt upstairs where it took me nearly 20 minutes to get all the muddy clay off of her. I wish I had taken a picture, it was nasty! Instead I will share a picture pf Swamp Thing, I promise you they could have been cousins.

Trenton, oh Trenton. Yesterday he had his first experience with a bar of soap in his mouth. He called Alexis a bitch. Yeah, I know we're partially to blame, we have the tendency to spout off foul words on a regular basis. I had never seen him so upset, he was NOT a fan of a bar of Dove in his mouth. I doubt he will ever look at a bar of soap the same again. I remember when I had my first bar-of-soap-in-the-mouth experience. I called my brother a douche... very loudly because I was angry with him, over something petty I imagine, my mom was not pleased. I had a bar of Zest in my mouth for 5 minutes. Yeah, 5 minutes. My mom was NOT messing around. I think I had the soap in Trenton's mouth maybe a minute. Soap in the mouth = NOT FUN.

Once we get in our house and settled I will be doing the Amazon.com $50 gift card giveaway! Don't forget and tell your friends!

  3. i had soap in the mouth too when i called my stepdad a bastard...turned out he actually was one too...but i didn't know the word. taught me that you don't say words you don't know the definition to. i still think that was a motivator to read the dictionary in the 5th grade.

also had pepper in my mouth. fresh black pepper burns. i'd prefer soap
