Operation: Don't Grow Up is a failure.

My baby is no longer a baby. Little Miss Jessa has entered the toddler world. It's bittersweet.

I tried, and tried, and TRIED to keep Jessa from walking. I knew when she started walking she would no longer be a 'baby.' Why is this a big deal? Shouldn't I be encouraging her to talk?! Well, no. She's the last baby I'll ever have. I wanted to keep her a baby for as long as possible. Eh, it didn't work. She's a successful walker. She's talking more too, which is fine and dandy. The point of this post is to be deemed a loser. I tried to keep Jessa baby and failed, rightfully so. While I was a bit sad about the whole walking bit I'm really happy about the start of potty training. I suppose she'll be in the 'not a baby but always a baby' like the other two kids.

You know, I went through this with the other two kids, the OMG don't grow up! Ordeal was just as silly as this. Now that the initial shock is over I'm starting to look forward. Forward to what will come when she enters Kindergarten. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS?! It means I will be able to reclaim my life. I can get a job, rejoin the workforce! I'm giddy just thinking about this. What will I do? Will I continue on the path I had once started or completely start over? It's scary but the good kind, the anticipation over comes me.

Jessa is such a joyful girl. She is always smiling, she hardly cries and she loves peek-a-boo. As a parent we have the novelty of teaching out kids things, things that have nothing at all to do with development. I've successfully taught Jessa to do a pose and throw her hands up when I say "Superstar!" It IS fantastic.

Alexis is continuing to be the superstar that she always has been. She is doing great with her grades, she's received some awards for her positive demeanor, and she has been doing dance and yoga classes in her spare time. I'm so proud of her, she is so extremely amazing at just 6 years old... I can't even begin to image what she'll be like when she's 10! Heck, even the third grade, because second grade has been so incredible. Her personality is as big as her ambitions and she blows my mind with her plans for the future.

Trenton is a pretty standard kid, he is the milestone kid. He does everything according to the textbooks. He knows all of his letters and colors, he cant write most of his name an his coloring skills have improved leaps and bounds. He spends a lot of time outdoors, yes even when its 25 degrees out, and he climbs trees and digs holes. Trenton has the sweetest personality and he is a bit sensitive, but his sense of humor is off the charts! This kid thinks his penis is THE funniest thing ever. Luckily enough he never talks about his penis at church or school. Thank goodness, how the heck would I explain that?!

Chad is probably going to have back surgery soon. He has an appointment wit the surgeon on the 29th but I doubt he'll make it that long. The injections he's getting once a week and the physical therapy aren't doing anything. He's constantly in pain and ultra cranky. I don't take it personally, from what I understand one herniated disc is awful, I can only imagine what a handful feel like.
