The joys of motherhood.

Why is it when kids break stuff they freak out? They cry or have some sort of panic attack? I never get onto my kids for spilling stuff or breaking things (unless I warn them prior to the accident about stopping what they were doing to prevent an accident), accidents happen. I just don't understand why they they freak out. A little while ago I was in the kitchen doing dishes and both Alexis and Trenton were looking out the front window. A large truck was outside down the road making all sorts of racket, I imagine they were tree pruners of some sort, and the kids were watching. I hear a crash and glass break. Alexis starts crying and she is holding her face. I'm worried, I mean come on! Crash + broken glass + crying + holding face = E.R. in my experience. I ask her what happened. Trenton is looking around and stating that he had NOTHING to do with the accident. He says over and over "It wasn't me, mom." I am reminded of the Berenstain Bears story about the lamp (although they were not lying...or I though they weren't lying) while this is happening. I see the lamp broken on the floor and the light bulb has shattered into a bazillion pieces. Alexis is still holding her face and crying. There is no blood. I am no longer panicked. After 10 minutes of whimpering she finally tells me she tripped on the cord, hit her face on the end table and the lamp broke. I'm not angry. I was most concerned about her and seeing if she was alright.

In other news, Jessa is getting her top teeth. She is a mess. I have a feeling bottles will be a thing of the past pretty soon. I have this rule, once you chew through a nipple in a bottle then you're done. Alexis was done at 8 months old and Trenton was done when he was 6 months old. Jessa has done some serious damage to her nipples on her bottles already, but she can still use them. The holes in the nipples are unreal.

Doesn't look so bad, humm?

This is what it looks like when I squeeze it.

Awesome, right? Like I said, the end is near for bottles. Once they're no longer drinkable to Jessa they're going in the trash and she will be using sippy cups all the time. She uses sippy cups about 50% of the time so it won't be a huge transition.

Our house is coming together, I'm excited. We bought a TV stand and a new TV for our living room on Monday and the only thing left to do is to get our couches and finish unpacking and we're done! I'm ready for it to be finished but I know that I am the one responsible for it all coming together. I've been really on top of things the last few days, if I can keep up the momentum this could all be done before Chad's four day weekend. Speaking of the four day weekend, we're going to the Great Escape during the four day weekend. I arranged for a friend to keep Jessa for 2 days while we take the bigger kids and have some fun. I'm pretty excited about going, they have a Alice in Wonderland area and as most of you know Alice in Wonderland is my favorite! VIVA SIX FLAGS!
